Weekend Wrap-Up

This past weekend turned out to be a great one. Knowing it would be a busy weekend, Kevin and I stayed in Friday night, which is rare for us (usually we go out for diner and a movie on Friday's). We had diner at home and watched "TV's All-Time Funniest," which was about the best comedy characters in sitcoms. It was pretty funny, and of course, Kevin and I both agree that Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld is hands-down our favorite funniest sitcom character. Wouldn't you agree? :) By the time the show ended we were pretty tired and called it an early night. Saturday morning we attended our first Bat Mitzvah for my boss's daughter. The ceremony was followed by a kosher lunch. It was a great learning experience for both of us, particularly for Kevin who is studying Old Testament and Hebrew this semester (about half of the ceremony was in Hebrew). For me it was a great opportunity to learn about my boss's Jewish faith in hopes of having more spiritual conversations at the office. Please pray that God would continue to open doors for me to share my faith at work. After lunch we came home and I helped Kevin with some case studies for one of his classes. But the Bat Mitzvah wasn't over :) There was an evening party that we were invited to as well. The theme of her party was Candy Land (like the game). Imagine my delight to find sugar EVERYWHERE! (he-he) There was great "non-sugar" food as well. We really enjoyed our day.

Kevin preached on Sunday morning, and we found after arriving at church that the Sunday night service was cancelled. We had already told my Mom that we wouldn't see her on Mother's Day because we'd have to spend the day in South Lafourche. When we found out that there was no night service we decided to head to my parents after church and surprise my Mom (and she was surprised :) We spent the rest of the day with my parents, and the best part was that my Mom and I got to watch the season finale of Survivor together! (Our favorite show :) I have the best mom, and I'm so happy to have spent the day with her. I can't wait to celebrate with her someday!
