We are so happy for Jess and Scott and wish them all the best as they begin this new season of their lives together!
Our LONG day Satuday was followed by another LONG day Sunday. Silas and I went to church with Papa for the first time since Silas was born. We hadn't attended previously because (1) Silas was dealing with extreme fussiness pretty much all day long for a while (he's gotten MUCH better in the last few weeks) and (2) the church is an hour away, which means we have to spend the whole day out of town since Kevin preaches the a.m. and p.m. services (this is difficult with a fussy 3 month old!) Well, this Sunday I felt comfortable enough to take Silas to church and spend the day out of town with him. Of course, we spent most of our time at church in the nursery, but he did really well. The only bad thing was that he didn't get a good nap in all day, which made for a LONG day for Papa and Momma who were hoping for a nap themselves. (By the way, shame on me for not mentioning this before, but as of June 1st, Kevin is the new pastor at First Baptist Church of Lockport, LA where he had been the interim pastor since January. We're so excited to be a part of this wonderful church family! We'll be moving to Lockport SOON, which will make future trips to church MUCH easier!) So, needless to say, by the time we got home on Sunday night we were all exhausted. Thankfully, Silas had a good night, and so did we. We realized just HOW tired Silas was when he took some really long naps on Monday, which doesn't happen very often. So when he napped, Papa and Momma napped to catch up on sleep. Of course, I got NOTHING done around the apartment yesterday, but the need for sleep trumped dirty dishes and endless loads of laundry!
So today has been catch-up day. I did those dishes and that laundry and some other general cleaning around the apartment. I also made a much-needed Wal-Mart run for groceries and household essentials. Hopefully I will continue to have a productive week!
Anyway, there's the weekend recap. We're looking forward to Kevin's first Father's Day this coming weekend! Yay!
