Great Friends

This is turning out to be a great long weekend. It all started Thursday night when we picked up our friends Jess and Scott from the airport. They came in to be with Jess’s family for the Easter holiday, but made a pit stop to visit with us first. It was great catching up and reminiscing with such great friends. They spent the night at our apartment, and we said our goodbyes about noon on Friday. It was a short but sweet visit. Friday afternoon Kevin and I went to Target to get a birthday present for our favorite little buddy from the seminary, Lil’ Dave. He turned 2 yesterday. Before heading home we decided to catch an afternoon movie (the cheaper and less crowded option :). Friday night was Lil’ Dave’s birthday party, which was fun. We got to visit with more great friends (of all ages :) It was a great afternoon for a party. The weather was perfect and there was just enough wind to convince the men at Lil’ Dave’s party to try out his new kite. It was hilarious watching grown men (including Kevin) running in circles around the backyard trying to get the kite to fly. Sadly, it never took flight, but it was worth the laughs trying. We came home Friday night tired, but so thankful for the great friends that the Lord has placed in our lives. And the weekend is not over yet! We get to spend time with great family tomorrow for Easter!
