One of the daily devotionals that is delivered to my inbox every day is “Moments Together for Couples” by Denis and Barbara Rainey from FamilyLife. This is one of my favorite devotionals because it provides much-needed wisdom for creating a strong and healthy marriage starting from the inside out. Yesterday’s devotional was pretty convicting to me because it dealt with procrastination, one of my greatest struggles. In the words of the Rainey’s:
“Procrastination moves us steadily, slowly, methodically toward living lives of destruction. Its companions are mediocrity, compromise, laziness, lies, broken vows and promises, escapism and daydreaming.”
Wow, I would never want to be described as lazy or as a liar or as a promise-breaker, but every time I put things off, I am practicing those ungodly characteristics. What an eye-opener!

Now comes the hard part: application. Thank God for His Holy Spirit who helps us to put to death the deeds of the body (Romans 8:13).
Being renewed in the spirit of my mind,
Beth
