My little bun is about 2 pounds and 14 1/2 inches long now! I can't believe he's been in there 6 months already! The completion of my 27th week (6 months) is taking us into the third trimester- the final lap! I'm feeling pretty good aside from the ever-present heartburn and the aches and pains that come along with a growing uterus. My research tells me that Silas has regular sleep patterns now. I've definitely noticed that these last couple of weeks. I feel him more at certain times of the day. From what I can tell he likes to stay up late and wake up early! We've got our work cut out for us! Oh yeah, one other thing I've experienced recently are Braxton-Hicks contractions, which are brief uterine contractions that are painless but make the stomach muscles feel really tight. It sort of feels like a Charlie Horse without the pain. At first I thought Silas was just pushing really hard on my stomach, but after researching, I know that he's not the one to blame. Braxton Hicks are normal towards the end of the pregnancy as long as they're not regular, which mine aren't, so there's no need for concern.
Kevin and I are officially signed up for our first prenatal class! We'll be taking a breastfeeding class in early December and there are several other classes in December that we'll be attending. We're really excited about learning together as we prepare for our new arrival.
In other news, my favorite sister came to visit us this weekend! We love having her over! The highlights of her visit were our trip to the movies on Saturday night to watch Madagascar: Escape to Africa (great movie, by the way!) and our time in the kitchen making Peanut Butter Kiss cookies while listening to Christmas music. We were in the holiday spirit! Isn't she a cute cookie maker?
And don't these cookies look delicious?!

We had a great time together. And the cookies WERE delicious. We brought them to a Sunday dinner at my parent's church and they didn't last long.
Hope you all are having a great week!
