My little brother is married! And the Celestin's were there to witness the wonderful ceremony in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee. To answer the first question on everyone's mind--> yes, Silas is back all in one piece! Haha! He actually did MUCH better than we expected in the car. He had a few minor crying spells, but they were usually followed by a good nap. He actually took a three hour nap during one stretch of the trip- praise God! While in TN he did pretty well, but the busyness of the trip caused him to get overtired a few times which led to some crying spells. Thankfully he only had ONE inconsolable crying spell, which occurred during the wedding reception. The kind owners of the reception hall allowed us to use an office to calm him down away from all the action. Between my mom and I we finally got him settled. It was a bit overwhelming for me in the moment, but I eventually pulled myself together and was able to enjoy the rest of the reception. All in all, though, Silas had a really good trip, and I think he's finally OK with his car seat! Hehe :-)
As for Luke and Sarah's wedding, it was absolutely beautiful. They got married outside with the gorgeous mountains in the background. It was truly breathtaking. Kevin and I were so honored to be a part of their wedding ceremony (I was a bridesmaid and Kevin helped officiate the wedding). Silas slept in Mimi's arms through the whole ceremony :-)
My parents offered to watch Silas one day so that Kevin and I could enjoy an outing with my other siblings. We spent the afternoon at Ober Gatlinburg's Amusement Park riding rides and just enjoying each other's company. It was a welcomed break. Thanks, Mimi and Pop! Our favorite ride was the Alpine Slide. We look forward to the time when we can experience these things with Silas. We know he'll love it!
Speaking of Silas, he's waking from a nap now so I'll have to cut this post short. More to come soon!
