Looking Up

"But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." ~James 3:17 ...the Lord laid this verse on my heart early this morning, and I didn't know why at the time. But He did...

The day didn't start until 9am- praise God for kids sleeping in! We were all so exhausted from our EARLY start the previous day. We spent our morning at home. The kids got along great for the most part, but I did notice that Silas was being extremely selfish and aggressive. This is where that verse about wisdom came in. After disciplining him several times I finally realized that Silas needed some one-on-one Mama time. We're so used to spending our days just the two of us that I think he was truly missing our special times of reading, singing, etc. together. So I blocked off some time just for the two of us to read stories like we usually do SEVERAL time a day these days. He seemed to settle down some, and we were all able to enjoy the rest of our day. Thank God for such great wisdom that only comes from above! I've posted the verse on the fridge for a daily reminder.

Our afternoon was pretty typical: lunch, play time with Kevin, nap time for Silas, snack time, play date with our friends across the street, dinner, and then VBS. Silas and I hung out VBS for a little while, but we came home early so that I could put my tired little man to bed. The rest of the crew is home now, bathed, and hopefully, nearing their pillows soon.

Resting in His wisdom,
