I should be doing laundry.

Hope you enjoyed the St. Lucia pictures I posted yesterday! They truly are just a snippet of our time in St. Lucia. I actually took over 300 pictures while we were there. We had a wonderful time! Kevin, Silas, Sara (my sis), and I spent our days visiting with Kevin's extended family, swimming (aka soaking up the St. Lucian sun :), and sight seeing. It was an extra special visit for us since it was Silas' first time visiting Kevin's grandmother in the home where Kevin grew up. It was also special to have my sister experiencing another country for the first time!

The trip was not without challenges, however. Traveling with a toddler is not the world's easiest venture! Especially when it seems that the "terrible... I mean "terrific two's" may have arrived a little early! Ha! I have to cut the little man some slack though, I did notice the arrival of two new molars while we were swimming one day! Not to mention, we were totally off our nap schedule, which made for some major meltdowns. Is it just me, or is being a Mom sometimes like trying to put a puzzle together without a picture to guide you?! There are so many factors that have to be considered when you're trying to figure out these little people! Anyway, there were things I did RIGHT on the trip and things I did WRONG. There was many mothering lessons learned, and I'm looking forward to sharing in the next few days.

By the way, did I mention how wonderful my husband is? How FLEXIBLE he is? He did more than his share of toddler wrangling so that I could take a few much-needed breathers! Thanks, Babe! (You're probably wondering why I'm snapping pictures during this toddler meltdown. Explanation: I'm a Mom blogger! I figured it would make for a good blog post! Haha! To reiterate, my husband is awesome!)

All in all, we had a great time though. And while it's good to get back to our home routine, we do miss the laid back atmosphere of the Island life. My sister and I rarely ever knew what time it was while we were in St. Lucia! The culture is definitely an "event oriented" culture verses our American "time oriented" culture. Once you get used to it though, it's sort of nice to just go with the flow! But, alas, if I want to get anything done, I know I need a little structure to my day, and the clock is a good guide. So, with that said, I'd better get to that laundry pile before it grows any bigger. *smile* More updates to come!
