Tasty Tuesday

Last week I got a little brave in the kitchen. I made a Spinach Turkey Roll (I found this recipe in a cookbook, but I also discovered that it's online as well- go figure). This dish was a little out of the ordinary for us since (1) we don't eat spinach that often (Kevin doesn't care for it) and (2) I don't usually roll things (especially meat) *haha* But I had added it to the menu plan last week as my "something new" because I was up for a little kitchen challenge. So here's how it went...

Seasoned Turkey Meat Spread out (over wax paper) in my 9 X 13 baking dish

Topped with Spinach (and mozzarella cheese, but I didn't get a picture after the cheese was added)

Slowly and carefully rolled into a loaf using the wax paper, then into the oven.

Out of the oven for a spaghetti sauce bath, then back into the oven

All done
Isn't it pretty?
But the true question is, "Was it good??" Answer: I thought it was really good, and I would definitely make it again. But next time I would season my turkey meat just a tad bit more. I may also try a different cheese just to change things up. Silas loved it, and Kevin gobbled it up even though he doesn't care for spinach. He suggested just filling it with just cheese next time *hehe* I served it with mashed potatoes and green beans.
This one is going into the recipe binder *smile*
