So I decided to just do a recap of December to get you all caught up. (By the way, this post is brought to you by 1 cup of coffee and 1 Dr. Pepper). So with no further adieu....
We started off the month caring for a VERY fussy toddler compliments of a nasty virus (Read the post here). After a full recovery, we enjoyed our return to the library for story time, spending time with neighborhood friends, attending the Lockport Christmas parade, and some early Christmas presents (Read that post here).
Thanks to a very helpful neighbor, I was able to get all of Silas' clothes sorted and ready for his baby brother, Liam (oh yeah, we picked out a name to!). It was such a relief to get that done. Thanks, Brandy!!
We attempted to go to Christmas in the Oaks in New Orleans, but wound up stuck in non-moving New Orleans traffic for over an hour so that trip was a bust. We settled for Cafe du Monde instead and then headed home. No pics from that fateful night.Maybe next year.
On December 17th, we found out we were having another baby boy. While I had let my thoughts wander to what it would be like to have a daughter, deep down inside I suspected it was another boy. And, truth be told, I couldn't be happier. I cried on the way home from the doctor's appointment as I expressed to Kevin how great a privilege it is to be able to raise up Godly men- Lord knows we need more of them, and I pray the Lord gives us the grace to raise Silas and Liam to know and love Him above all else.
Silas turned 22 months on the 20th of December. We're only two months away from a second birthday! Wow! While the last couple of months have had their challenges, I believe that this particular stage that Silas is in right now will be one of my favorites. He's communicating like a grown-up with a toddler voice, soaking up the world around him, and learning to do things "by hisself" (one of his favorite new phrases :). Of course he is also VERY attached to his Mama, as stubborn as his Mama, and getting into everything! I have to refocus OFTEN!
All the while, he is still the cutest toddler I've ever laid my eyes on. Wouldn't you agree? :)
If you're still in doubt, here are some more pics to prove it...

We were blessed to be able to spend our Christmas and New Year holidays with family. Although we're WAY off schedule and ready to get back into routine, we wouldn't trade our holiday family time for anything. We have had a blessed 2010 and we anticipate the same for 2011.
Happy New Year!
