Peacefully Waiting

Sorry I'm a little late with the pregnancy update! We've been enjoying time with some good friends from out of town the past couple of days. Jessica, my friends from childhood, and her husband Scott are in from Texas for a few days, and we have the privilege of hosting them. It's been nice to just relax with old friends and get my mind off of the pregnancy stuff for a while. And, of course, Silas loves having new friends to play with.  Here's Aunt Jess and Silas playing a little baseball...

I saw the doctor Wednesday, and things haven't progressed much. My cervix is continuing to soften, but no more dilation. After speaking with the doctor and being reassured that there are no concerns about mine or the baby's health at this point, we've decided not to induce just yet. I'm really hoping I can go into labor on my own before any concerns arise. I've been feeling ok- just uncomfortable. Several people have mentioned to me lately that they've been praying that the Lord would give me peace during this last stretch of the pregnancy. I can truly say that the Lord has been faithful to do just that. Although I am very ready to meet Liam, I been feeling a great sense of calm about God's timing.

For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
Psalm 139:13-16
