Easter 2012

Although it's a little late, I wanted to share a few pictures from Easter this year. After worshiping with our church family Sunday morning we headed to my hometown to spend some time with family. Our first stop was my uncle's house where the boys participated in an Easter egg hunt.

Liam heading out with Papa...

Silas hard at work searching for eggs...

Silas had a little help carrying his bag...

Searching under bushes...

Liam was happy to play with one solitary egg the whole time...

He's the king of funny faces these days...

Ready to munch on some chocolate with Mimi...

Wheelbarrow ride with Pop Joe...

Liam enjoyed watching the stuffed chick pop out of the egg...

Silas checking out his goods...

After leaving my Uncle's house, we headed to my parents house where they had a treasure hunt prepared for Silas. Cousins Michael and Kylie had a map drawn out which directed Silas to his buried treasure.

With Pop Joe's help Silas was able to dig up his treasure...

A couple of tin cans...

Filled with lots of treasures for Silas and Liam...

Both boys had a blast.

While we choose to promote Christ and not the Easter Bunny on Easter, we still allow our children to enjoy cultural traditions like Easter egg hunts. To us, they are simply a means of enjoying family and creating memories. We are in no way dishonest to our children nor do we make cultural traditions the main theme of the holiday. Our goal as parents is to never let these activities overshadow Jesus.
