Word-Filled Wednesday: Snot Edition

I was gonna go Wordless today since it's Wednesday, but I decided that I have some stuff to say, namely, that I feel like I've been run over by a truck. How's that for positive talk?
I started feeling under the weather on Sunday afternoon, and things just escalated from there.
Sore throat... runny nose... dry cough... phlegmy cough...blah. blah. blah.
I tried to lay the smack down on my end-of-summer cold Sunday night via a home remedy I found on Pinterest.
Here's how that went...
You read that label right- cayenne pepper. Have a glass of water nearby if you dare try this. I'm still not sure it did any good, but maybe that's because I only partook of it one time.

Monday morning rolled around, and on top of my cold I had a case of the hormones (sorry to any guys reading this). I cried when Liam spilled my coffee, and that's when I knew I had to get some fresh air. Kevin is home on Monday's so he graciously gave me a Mommy's Day Out, which included some necessary errands and some personal shopping. I have a good man.

I hit up a few of my favorite spots: Sam's, Goodwill, Ross Dress for Less, and the beloved Marshalls.

I forgot I was sick for about 20 minutes while I browsed this awesome aisle at Marshalls.

Hidden in the depths of the yummy food aisle was this bag of Honey BBQ Smart Fries (fortunately, Amazon has them!), which I was super pumped about. It was the perfect low-calorie snack for the drive home.

And, of course, I had to hit Happy Hour at Sonic for a Coke Zero to go with my new-found Smart Fries.

I got home in time to cook dinner, which included Weight Watchers Easy Fried Rice,  Asian marinated chicken sauteed with mushrooms, and a side of steamed broccoli. My picky eater didn't touch any of it, but the rest of us gobbled it up.

Tuesday morning was the same story. Snot-filled Kleenex piled up as I did my morning Bible study.

Of course, life doesn't stop when Mama's are sick. The boys and I still did the usual Tuesday morning library trip. I was glad to be out of the house, but by the time I got home all I could think about was my pillow and my nice cozy bed. Hours later, my dream became a reality.

I wish the story got better, but unfortunately Liam woke up sick this morning. He's got a bad case of the runnies, and he's just plain grouchy. Well, that makes two of us. We need prayer.

The boys have been doing a lot of this today...

And I've been trying to get some rest.

Here's to a better end to the week!
