Cocoa Tea and Trust

Tuesday evening finds me relaxing at home. Kevin is off to the grocery store to get some evaporated milk for our cocoa tea and dumplings tonight. As you may have guessed, it’s a St. Lucian recipe. Kevin’s grandma used to make for him and now he makes it for me. It’s becoming one of my favorite after-diner snacks :)

On a spiritual note, in these last few days God has been revealing to me my lack of trust in Him and my over-reliance on myself. My sinful tendency is to try to manage and control my life apart from God. Thankfully, my system always falls apart and I realize that apart from Him I can do nothing. I am so thankful for God’s patience with me—He is faithful even when I am not.

“I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” ~Psalm 62:5-8

Tea Time :)
