We had a great weekend with my family. My parents and sister came in on Friday afternoon. We had dinner and spent some quality time together. My mom, sister and I sprawled out on the bed for some girl talk while my dad and Kevin discussed the ins-and-outs of the Logos Bible software program. After my parents headed to their room, Kevin and my sister decided to watch movies... until 2:30 AM! I opted for dreamland :) Saturday morning, my parents and I went out for coffee while Kevin and my sister slept in. By the time we got back, the sleepyheads were awake and ready to begin preparing for our afternoon BBQ. My brothers and their girlfriends came in for lunch. We ate and played games, two of our favorite things to do. Before they all left we went out for ice cream. I was sad to see them leave, but so thankful for the beautiful weekend that the Lord provided for us (including sunshine!). The pic below is of us playing "Last Word" in Sunchine Park.
Before I close, I'd just like to mention that Kevin is
officially the interim pastor at South Lafourche Baptist Church! He's been supply preaching for them for a few months now, but this was his first Sunday as the official interim pastor. Basically an interim's job is to assist a church as they transition from one pastor to next. This is new for both of us (Kevin as a pastor and me as a pastor's wife) so please pray for us as we serve in this new ministry. Pray for the church also as they seek God for His guidance in finding a new pastor to lead the church.
