Happy Belated New Year! (34 Weeks)

I can't believe 2009 is here! This is going to be a really eventful year for us, and we're so excited about what's to come. Of course, our most anticipated event is the birth of our son, Silas Benjamin Celestin! In only a month and a half our lives will be forever changed when we welcome our new family member. 2009 will definitely be a year of LEARNING how to be the parents that the Lord desires us to be. It will also be the year that my hubby graduates from NOBTS with a Master's degree! I'm so proud of him! It will be extra special having Silas there to celebrate with us. And of course, with graduation comes leaving our first home, NOBTS, and many great friends, and seeking the Lord as to where He wants us to serve in full time ministry. We are excited about the changes to come but, of course, sad that this chapter in our lives is coming to an end.

As far as New Year's Resolutions go, my only prayer is that the Lord draws me closer to Him, that I continue to grow in my role as a wife, and that I learn how to be the best mom I can possibly be. I have a feeling that I'll be so busy with those things (especially the mom thing) that I won't have much time for anything else this year!

Well, I'm 6 weeks out from giving birth and really just taking it one day at a time. Some days I get impatient and wish Silas were here NOW and other days I feel overwhelmed by everything that needs to get done before his arrival. I'm finding that I need to refocus daily, remembering that not everything needs to be or will EVER be "perfect." Silas will no doubt be loved and cared for and have everything he needs regardless of how organized his sock drawer is. I'm trusting the Lord to keep me calm and stress free as this pregnancy comes to an end.

Ok, so I figured for old times sake I'd give a fruit picture update of my growing baby boy. My research tells me that he is about the size of a cantaloupe now, weighing 4.75 lbs and stretching to about 18 inches! He's also getting chubbier, which makes his mommy very happy. I can't wait to kiss those chubby cheeks!
Happy New Year!
