My little house guests arrived today just in time to get ready to leave for VBS. I was glad to have most of the day to finish preparations for my family of five this week. I did my grocery shopping, posted my weekly menu plan on the refrigerator, got dinner prepared (lasagna, garlic bread, and salad)...
...and even had time to make a few trail mix snack bags for the kiddies to snack on during the week...
We all made it VBS on time- yay! And it was a blast. The older kids enjoyed visiting different stations, but Silas and I mostly hung out by the petting zoo the entire time. Yes, there was a petting zoo at VBS! There were chickens, chicks, dogs, a miniature horse, ducks, bunnies, and even a small KANGAROO! Needless to say, Silas was in seventh heaven. I don't think I've ever seen the kid more excited than he was in a pen full of animals. He wanted to befriend them all! Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera, but the VBS leader got a few shots that I'm hoping to snatch once VBS is over.
Silas had a major meltdown before VBS was over (due to over-tiredness) so I came home early with him, bathed him, and put him straight to bed. Kevin headed home with the two older kids soon after. We've had dinner and baths, and I'm hoping that bedtime is in the near future.
I'm very thankful for the time we get to spend with our two happy campers...
