October at Our Home

Silas enjoying the bonfire that Pop Joe made for him
October has always been one of my favorite months, and this year was no different. I love the subtle changes in the weather that keep you yearning for more. I love all of the Fall colors that start lining department store aisles. I love the smell of Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I love the taste of marshmallows toasted over bonfires. I love how the calendar starts filling up with special times to be had with family and friends. I just love October. Period. Oh yeah, and it's my birthday month, which is also a bonus!

The boys have grown by leaps and bounds this past month. Liam has cut two teeth, started crawling, and started pulling up on the furniture. He is a full time job all by himself!

Silas has grown in stature, knowledge, and silliness. He loves to talk and pretend.

Both boys bring me so much joy. I love to watch them grow and learn.
I've been growing more in my role as a Mom. I'm learning the value of spending quality time with Silas, and I'm learning to cherish all the sweet snuggles from Liam. The more the boys grow, the more I realize how fast time flies. Although this season is exhausting, I will never get these days back so I want to make the most of them. The Lord has been showing me the importance of having a focus and being intentional. He is slowly giving Kevin and I a vision of what He wants for our family, and we are so excited to join Him at work.

Kevin and I continue to follow (and love!) the Weight Watchers program. We've both noticed a big difference in our overall health, which makes the journey well worth it.

Kevin journeyed to Africa this month on a mission trip. He was blessed to join Jesus at work in Kenya. One of his greatest blessings was ministering to the orphans there. His trip will have lasting effects on our family. We are so thankful for God's provision in allowing him to go and serve.

While Kevin was away I attended a college reunion. It was put on by the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) where Kevin and I met and served together during our time in college. It was bittersweet attending without Kevin, but the boys and I really enjoyed our time visiting with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Kevin and I are grateful to have been part of such an influential ministry during our college years.

We welcome November with great gratitude for all that the Lord has done and is continuing to do in our family.
