Together in Ten

There's a new blog in town that I'm pretty excited about! It's called Together in Ten: Great Style in a Snap. Basically, it's a group of really awesome ladies from around the Internet who have come together to encourage us ladies, especially us moms, that we can look nice and put-together without lots of fuss! And while I don't consider myself to be the "fashion forward" type by any stretch of the imagination, I do enjoy looking nice for my husband and family.

I don't know about you, but I know that as a stay-at-home mom it's easy to get caught up in the stretchy pants and slippers look.

Exhibit A:
But, I know from experience, that if I can find a mere 10 minutes a day to devote to getting ready FOR the day, my day will typically go a lot better.

It has very little to do with the actual clothes and a whole lot to do with the mindset.

Getting dressed for the day is kind of like clocking in for the day.

It's helps to remove some of the temptation to lounge on the couch being lazy.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not very disciplined in this area YET, but the Together in Ten blog has inspired me to try harder.

Every Sunday there is a a link up on the Together in Ten blog called Wham Bam Instrgram! "Show us Your Sunday Best!" where you can link up an instagram photo of your favorite outfit/accessory/good hair day of the past week. I've decided to join in on the fun!

This week I'm actually featuring the outfits I wore last Sunday and this Sunday!
Ignore Liam's finger prints in the second picture.
As I've mentioned here before, Sunday mornings tend to be slightly chaotic around here
Part of streamlining our Sunday mornings has been simplifying my own personal wardrobe. Over the summer, I wore dresses every Sunday, which was SO easy. I had about four or five "no-ironing- required" dresses that I would rotate. Easy peasy.
Since the weather has cooled off slightly, I've been wearing pants to church again. In the above pictures, I'm wearing the same "no-ironing-required" shirt, but paired it with different colored cardigans and simple necklaces to change the look. I'm wearing black pants and black wedges in the first picture and dark wash trouser jeans and brown flats in the second. As soon as the temperature creeps below 70 degrees I'll be exchanging my necklaces for scarves, which will also help to change things up a bit.
It's an extremely simple but classic look that gets me out the door quickly on chaotic Sunday mornings!

And, of course, laying out our clothes on Saturday night, also helps!

How do you get put "together in ten"?
